Question by Rostam: what is the difference between long e and i in german? there is some video on the youtube insisting the german long e: and long i: are pronouced differently but to me they are the same. I think the german "tee" is pronouced exactly like the english "tea". Best answer:

Not sure what you mean by "long e" or "long i", but the german word for tea is pronounced somewhat like "t(h)ay".It rhymes with german "geh"

Long "e" sounds like the "ay" in say or hay Long "i" sounds like the "ee" in "see"

They are not pronounced in the same way. German "Tee" is pronounced: "TAY" English "tea" is pronounced: "TEE"
