Question by RoxiLin: what the heck is this thing on the bottom of my green tea bottle? Okaayy I know it sounds weird to ask this, but I love drinking "Lipton Green Tea" and there's always something on the bottom of it (its brown?) and I really don't know what it is... Best answer:

Probably just green tea powder...

Green tea, like many teas, is made from steeping dried tea leaves in water. No matter how finely pulverized dried tea leaves are, they are still not soluble in water. In the processing of the tea, larger bits of tea leaves are easily filtered whereas those that are a finer powder still get to pass through the filters and into the bottles. As the bottles of tea sit on the grocery store shelves or in your pantry or refrigerator, as a function of gravity, these very fine bits of tea leaves settle on the bottom of your bottle. If it bothers you, you may shake the bottle and drink it or you may leave it as is and just have the tea particles settle at the bottom of the bottle as sediment.
